Welcome to Pilot Bay Resort on Kootenay Lake, in the southeast corner of British Columbia, Canada.  Kootenay Lake is BC's third largest natural lake and was used as the main transportation link by early prospectors and settlers who laid the foundations for the first mines and towns in the Kootenay area.  Pilot Bay was one of several such communities.  The town vanished around 1902; today only scattered bricks, cellar foundations and two brick stacks remain.  However, the scenic lake is still the chosen route for modern travelers.  Walk-on and drive-on commuters cross the lake daily on the longest free ferry ride in North America.  The East Shore terminal, at Kootenay Bay, is within walking distance of  Pilot Bay Resort.

Stay on the lake - you are invited to visit Pilot Bay Resort and enjoy the long sunny evenings of the East Shore.  Pilot Bay Resort is located on the waterfront and offers first class accommodations and services - including waterfront RV sites, artwork, angling supplies, boat moorage and fishing charters. We welcome family reunions, honeymooners, cyclists, motorcyclists, individual and group campers, and pets.  If you have questions or would like to make a reservation, please contact us at any time.
